user testing

XIX Entry developed a technology that allows users to securely sign into accounts on desktop using Face ID, like you do on your smartphone. They hired Concepto to make this technology user interfacing. Concepto leveraged its design-led and data-informed approach to help them shape this product into an invaluable solution. XIX Entry makes forgotten passwords a thing of the past by allowing users to log in to accounts on desktop with face using a Chrome extension.

User research insights uncover opportunity for product market fit

Concepto conducted user research which allowed XIX was able to pivot early on and avoid unnecessary development costs. Initially the product was intended to get users to log into their financial accounts more securely. Upon some user research, the findings showed that most users struggle with forgotten passwords for every other type of account, but they do remember their banking credentials. XIX was able to quickly identify a better opportunity for product market fit: SaaS products and ecommerce platforms.

Defining a product vision through strategy sessions

By the end of the strategy phase, XIX was able to define and communicate its product value as: allowing people to securely and conveniently access their entire digital life. From there, Concepto collaborated with XIX to create a detailed storyboard showing each customer interaction point and how to connect them into a cohesive solution. The strategy sessions allowed the leadership team to imagine the finished product. By the end of the intensive, days long sessions and user research work XIX Entry co-founder said: “there’s just no more uncertainty about where our product should go.”

Designing user flows for a web app and Chrome extension

After the research and strategy phase, we moved to defining user flows that ensure users can complete all main actions in as few steps as possible. Concepto tested the flows with users to ensure a smooth and intuitive experience. On the XIX Entry web app, a user can set their account preferences and manage their connected apps. For an optimal face login experience, we designed a Chrome extension that activates on an apps login screen and allows face login versus typing credentials. For the most frequently used apps, users don’t even need to go to the app’s login page. The XIX Entry extension allows users to log in with just a click, making the log in experience more seamless than ever and resetting passwords a thing of the past.

A brand identity that puts the end-user at the center of technology

Concepto created the brand identity for XIX Entry based on our close understanding of the product vision and user base. Through user interviews, we found that people are still nervous to share biometric data with companies due to privacy concerns. XIX Entry is committed to protecting end-user privacy and the brand needed to convey this. Concepto decided to reflect the empowerment of the end-user to own and control their biometric data by creating a logomark that puts the end-user at the center of technology. The resulting identity conveys trust, is memorable, and feels approachable.
