Shiba offers art galleries and art collectors a smoother experience when buying and selling art. Concepto designed Shiba’s point-of-sale (POS) solution for art galleries to make sales. We designed a tool to support art galleries in lead generation, building relationships with collectors, negotiating artwork price, and collecting payment.

Digitizing the art sales process

Concepto designed a tablet experience where art galleries can keep track of leads and share artwork details to interested collectors during art fairs. We started by creating a customer journey that allowed us to understand the needs of art collectors and art galleries throughout the sales process. Art galleries were relying on error-prone and clunky email and printed communication to complete sales. We identified opportunities for improvements in the process that were then incorporated into the POS design.

Supporting relationship based sales

The end-to-end POS solution allows galleries to collect payments, track sales opportunities and move forward faster with customer activity insights. Art galleries can share art with collectors and easily collect contact information during art fairs. After the art fair, they can create personalized follow up communication based on collectors’ interests and analytics that show artwork they like and follow. Shiba has become a preferred tool for art galleries to automate and grow their business.

Discovering art and bid online

Using Shiba, collectors can browse and like artwork. Art galleries can now show more artwork than just what they have on physical display and more easily manage their inventory. The digital experience allows for negotiation. Art galleries can provide discounts to buyers and art collectors can make offers for artwork.
